Bonnie Harris Photo

I'm Bonnie Harris and going to the movies has always been my favorite entertainment. As a graduate student studying film at the University of Oregon, I'm fascinated by the historical trends of cinema and the development of sound and dialogue in early Hollywood. When sound was added to the moving image, screenwriting became an indispensable part of cinema production. Along with immersing myself in movie history, producing student documentaries, and learning the craft of screenwriting, I also review children and family films for a local Eugene magazine. Here I'd like to share a few shots from movies that I've reviewed for my readers.

Current Projects

Oregon Family Magazine's Movie Time features film reviews of movies for children and families that are currently in theatres or have recently been released on DVD.

The student-produced short documentary film, Gymnasium of the Mind, is the story of Oregon's scholastic chess tournaments. Aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting's Student Film Festival in 2013, the documentary went on to be nominated for a Northwest Emmy.

A feature-length screenplay, On The Air, is about a middle-aged mother of two in 1957 who accidentally invents the most popular musical television program in history. Olivia DeWitt is the woman behind the man behind the music.
